Vintage Sunbonnet Sue and Sam Quilt 72 x 56 Inches Hand Appliqued and Quilted

Here is a vintage Sunbonnet Sue and Sam quilt. Each hand-appliqued-and-embroidered block measures about 9.5 inches square, and the whole quilt is about 72 x 56 inches (longer than it is wide). The sashing is blue with white blocks and the backing is white. It was hand quilted.

The body of the quilt is still in good condition, with just a few small holes and tears and no stains that I can see. The edges are quite worn, particularly at the top (see photo). The back has some stains.
